Return to TopWhy are some wines Matched while others aren't?

There are several reasons why a wine is not recognized:

  • Spelling error.
  • Some information is missing.
  • Some information is redundant.
  • The use of abbreviations.
  • The use of packaging description.
  • The lack of vintage
  • The wine does not exist in our Wine database.

If you cannot find a match for your wine, please let us know by writing to support@winepricex.com

Return to TopWhy are there wines with no average value?

Three conditions must be met in order to view an Average Value:

  • The wine must be Matched in your Cellar
  • The corresponding wines of the Merchants, Brokers and Auction Houses must also be Matched to our Wine database.
  • The wine values must meet the validation criteria we impose to make sure that there are no incoherent values in the system.

Return to TopWhat are the ratings systems available on WPX?

You can use either a 100-point system, 20-point system, or a 5-point system to rate wines on WPX.

The 100-point rating system is used by the likes of Robert Parker and Wine Spectator Magazine. You can also use a range (such as 96-100) to denote preliminary wine barrel tastings.

Return to TopHow do we determine whether a wine is regularly auctioned or not?

To determine this, we apply the following rules. We must be able to determine that the wine has a value over $80. If the available information we have can not confirm this, we’ll estimate that a wine over 10 years of age is likely to be auction material. If you would like a wine to be added to the list, please let us know at support@winepricex.com.
